A Pledge towards Women

Happy Women's Day!!! Today I won't be preaching over the fact of 'how strong women are', I would be writing on the fact of 'how you should respect one'. Today I will be speaking up for every woman on this planet who is barred from walking out at night, denied from wearing the clothes she likes and has to repress whatever she had/has been through, just because society will blame it back on her.

Everyone speaks about women empowerment, but trust me no woman can ever be empowered if you do not treat her with respect, dignity and honour. Every person deserves it, not only women. She is a woman, not a bloody toy that you can play with whenever and however you want. A woman is stopped from doing a lot of things just because someone who cares about them is worried, "what will happen to her when she walks out that door". Every single person who has a woman in their lives is worried about them just because of the horrible hell that exists in the exteriors of the safe environment they live in.

It is not just rape cases but also sexual harassments, domestic violence and so many more such cases that worry an individual. Recently, in the movie 'A Thursday' it was told that how every 8-15 mins one woman is raped but well, one case takes a billion years to be solved so, the justice lies way ahead. No one can ever imagine the girth of pain, hatred and insecurity a woman goes through after that one nightmare, and after all this, it is later blamed on the woman that she enticed the man.

A woman is not a pleasure satisfying toy for anyone, nor is it her fault that men treat her like one. Yes I agree "not all men are the same" but we don't know who the different ones are either. There are so many unsaid cases that the world is not even aware about, in fact marital rape is still not declared a crime in many countries because it seems that after marriage a woman is the property of her husband. Yes! making changes in the laws is way ahead and not much in our control but we as individuals can take tiny steps towards a big change. Yes! Even if there are stringent protection laws for women, there still might be incidents like these but we can at least ensure that every time anything like this happens there is a fear in them that will somehow stop these harassments.

Before you portray periods as an embarrassment, teach a man to help her when she needs that help. Before you teach a woman to dress up, teach a man to respect the women around him. Before you order a woman to stay inside at night, educate a man to behave properly outside. Fit one thing in your brain that if a woman can take monthly pains and go through that painful 9 months and give birth to you, then one day that same woman can become a wrath over you. Don't just worship and respect Goddesses but treat every woman around you the same

So this women's day, let's pledge to respect every woman, to make it a safer place for her at any hour of the day and most of all STOP TREATING HER LIKE A TOY!

"DON'T TEACH A WOMAN, RATHER EDUCATE A MAN TO BEHAVE."
