Unity in Diversity
'Unity in diversity' a very common phrase with desperate need of being followed. During our school years the first chapter we ever learned was about, appreciating every single community. In fact as a kid we never even knew the different caste and communities in our own country, all we knew was to enjoy with the person who liked the same cartoon or the same food item. The difference we made was based on these choices. As a kid, we HATED 'karela' (bitter gourd) and did all sorts of drama to not have a single bite of it and the ones who liked it had to face a lot of judgement for their awful taste buds (no offence to people who like karela)... In fact I did that drama just yesterday.
When we finally started to understand the things around, we started realizing the existence of various communities around us and tried to make differences based on the same. But why? I mean why do we have to judge and group people based on the communities they belong to? Why can't we simply live with each other happily? Why do we have to stereotype groups? WHY? Yes people exist with difference mindsets and cultures but at the end they all are humans. Instead of disseminating hate towards cultures, try to change the mindset of people who spread such kind off difference.
In a country like ours, we all should learn to live with each other. Instead of making every festival grand and showcase your personal community's growth, we should sit together and celebrate every festival. We should include each other and show how we celebrate every festival. India has so many festivals, just imagine how grand it will be if every single one celebrated these festivals together. Just imagine the number of biryanis, plum cakes, kachoris, we all can have.
Existence of differences is natural but believing in them and excluding others is wrong. So let us all strive to remove these barriers, let us all together change the ideas of stereotyped people. From Eid to Diwali to Christmas and all other festivals, let us have fun as one single whole. Let us stop tagging people based on their belonging towards a group. LET US ALL UNITE!
Absolutely true Tanisha existence of differences is absolutely natural it is time we understood these differences and celebrated them and learnt to empathize and live more peacefully instead of existing in fragments
